We’re delighted to welcome local landscape artist Michael T Roberts to the café, where we’re now displaying a selection of his en plein air paintings.
Michael has lived in and around Chiddingstone for most of his life, with his family having lived at Vexour Farm for many years. He also attended Chiddingstone School for a short time in the early 1970s, so his connection with the village and its surrounding countryside runs deep.
Much of Michael’s work is inspired by the landscape around Chiddingstone. Through long-standing friendships with local farmers and landowners, he has developed a real appreciation for the countryside and the character of this beautiful part of Kent.
Over the past ten years, Michael has exhibited at Jessops Farm Gallery, The Red House at Mark Beech, Falconhurst Barn and, most recently, The Castle Inn in Chiddingstone. He was also fortunate to be selected as a Wild Card participant when Landscape Artist of the Year came to Hever Castle.
We’re particularly pleased to be able to display his work here in the village that has inspired so many of his paintings.
Pop into the café to have a look at the exhibition while you’re here.
